How To Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats- Step-by-Step

  1. Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish. Set aside.
  2. Add the butter and peanut butter to a large saucepan. Pour the Rice Krispies into a large bowl.
  3. Over medium-low heat, melt the butter and mix until butter and peanut butter are melted and combined.
  4. Add the marshmallows and mix until the marshmallows are melted and you have a thick mixture.
  5. Take off the heat and add the chocolate chips. Mix well. Chocolate chips don’t need to be completely melted before you do the next step. Residual heat softened them up.
  6. Pour the Rice Krispies into the saucepan and mix until coated. I used a Dutch oven for this recipe.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Use a fork and press down evenly so it covers the whole dish. Coat the fork with butter if it gets sticky.
  9. Set aside to allow the Rice Krispies treat to set, for 1-2 hours.
  10. Serve and Enjoy!

Tips

  • Use smooth peanut butter for easy mixing!
  • For best results, do not melt the chocolate chips. Just fold them in.
  • Use gluten-free rice crisp cereal if you are on a gluten-free diet.

You can individually wrap your Rice Krispie Bars in bags and keep them at room temperature for 2-3 days.
