This chocolate peanut butter rice krispie bar recipe is easy and fun for the whole family. It has just five simple ingredients. Buttery, chewy, chocolate flavor with lots of peanut butter marshmallow crunch! The perfect treat!

Ingredients

6 tablespoons salted butter

1/2 cup smooth peanut butter

15 ounces (1 1/2 bags) mini marshmallows

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9×13-inch baking dish. Set aside.
  2. Add the butter and peanut butter to a large saucepan. Pour the Rice Krispies into a large bowl.
  3. Over medium-low heat, melt the butter and mix until butter and peanut butter are melted and combined.
  4. Add the marshmallows and mix until the marshmallows are melted and you have a thick mixture.
  5. Take off the heat and add the chocolate chips. Mix well. Chocolate chips don’t need to be completely melted before you do the next step. Residual heat softens them up. Just fold in the chocolate.
  6. Pour the Rice Krispies into the saucepan and mix until coated.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Use a fork and press the rice krispie mixture evenly to cover the whole dish. If the fork gets sticky, coat it with butter.
  9. Set aside to allow the Rice Krispies treat to set for 1-2 hours.
  10. Cut into 14 squares. Wrap each square in parchment or place in a self-sealing plastic bag.
  11. Serve and Enjoy!
