This delicious sparkling Pomegranate Mocktail (or Cocktail) is perfect for holiday gatherings. It’s festive, colorful, and, most of all, easy for busy hostesses. Ingredients such as Pomegranate juice, fresh oranges, fresh limes, and sparkling water combine to make a beautiful, colorful drink.

You can make a pitcher of this drink in advance and put out sparkling water, ginger ale, vodka, white rum, and bowls of ice, allowing guests to help themselves. This could also be lovely in a large punch bowl with fresh citrus slices.

Pomegranate Mocktail with Oranges and Limes

Many people like having a mocktail at a holiday party to slow down the alcohol. We live in the Bay Area, and people tend to live far away from each other. It’s nice to offer a non-alcoholic drink for guests with a long drive ahead. This is also a kid-friendly drink!

This recipe is very much like a Pomegranate Sangria with no added sugar. It’s a flavorful mocktail or cocktail perfect for the holiday season or any time of year.

Pomegranate Juice, Sparkling Water, Orange Slices, Limes

Ingredients for Holiday Mocktail

  • Pomegranate Juice
  • Pomegranate Arils – Fresh or Frozen Pomegranate Seeds
  • Fresh Limes
  • Fresh Oranges or Blood Oranges – Add sweetness to the tart Pomegranate Juice.
  • Orange Juice
  • Sparkling Water, Bubbly Water, or Club Soda – Pour the Bubbly water right before serving so it stays effervescent!
  • Ice Cubes – This is the time to break out some attractive ice cubes. We used small round ones.
  • Optional – Vodka and Ginger Beer
  • Optional – Add Cinnamon Sticks to the Pomegranate Mixture.

How To Make a Pomegranate Mocktail or Cocktail

1. Cut Oranges and Limes into even slices. This is for Drink and as a Garnish.

2. Pour Pomegranate Juice into a Pitcher or Punch Bowl.

3. Juice 2 large oranges and pour juice into the pitcher with the Pomegranate Juice. (or use any fresh or storebought orange juice)

4. Add sliced Citrus to the drink mixture and let the fruit marinate in the Pomegranate Juice and Orange Juice for at least an hour.

5. Serve: Add ice and fill glasses 3/4 way with the Pomegranate Sangria.

6. Add Sparkling Water right before serving. Garnish with Lime Slices and Oranges.

For an Alcoholic Version: Replace Sparkling Water with one ounce of Vodka or White Rum.

Tips & Tricks for

  • We love serving this in a large glass pitcher, punch bowl, or large jug (let guests add their sparkling water, spirits, and ice.
  • Add your fresh fruit at least one hour before serving to infuse the Pomegranate Juice with all the delicious citrus flavor.
  • Garnish glasses with an orange slice and lime wedge.
  • You could also add strawberries or raspberries to the mixture.
  • Add a rosemary sprig or cinnamon stick for an extra festive look
  • Serve in a beautiful highball glass or any festive tall glass.
  • Decorate your Bar with a whole Pomegranate and some fresh fruit.

Variations on this Pomegranate Holiday Mocktail

  • Add some ginger for a Ginger Pomegranate Mocktail
  • Use Cranberry Juice instead of Pomegranate.
  • Add simple syrup if you like a sweeter drink.

4 Cups Pomegranate Juice

Pomegranate Arils – Fresh or Frozen Pomegranate Seeds – 1/2 cup (I place a few in each glass) 

Orange Juice – 1 Cup fresh squeezed or store bought.

4-6 Fresh Limes – Slices for Drink Mixture and Garnish

2-3 Fresh Oranges or Blood Oranges – Add sweetness to the tart Pomegranate Juice. I use for the drink mixture and as a garnish.

4 Bottles of Sparkling Water, Bubbly Water, or Club Soda – Pour the Bubbly water right before serving so it stays effervescent!

Ice Cubes – This is the time to break out some attractive ice cubes. We used small round ones.

Optional – Vodka and Ginger Beer

1. Prepare the Citrus: Cut One to two Oranges and 4 Limes into even slices.

2. Pour Pomegranate Juice into Pitcher: Pour 4 Cups of Pomegranate Juice into a Pitcher or Punch Bowl.

3. Juice Oranges: Juice 2 large oranges and pour one cup of orange juice into the pitcher with the Pomegranate Juice. (or use any fresh or storebought orange juice)

4. Add sliced Citrus to the Pomegranate Mixture and let the fruit marinate for at least an hour. It infuses the drink with sweetness.

5. Serve: Add ice and fill glasses 3/4 way with the Pomegranate Sangria.

6. Add Chilled Sparkling Water. Garnish with Lime Slices and Oranges.

For an Alcoholic Version: Replace Sparkling Water with one ounce or more of Vodka or White Rum. Enjoy!

Notes
