Frequently Asked Questions (use keyword)

Can people on a gluten-free diet eat tacos?

Most tacos made with corn tortillas are gluten-free, but it’s essential to check with the server if you are dining out.

Why is Taco Bell not gluten-free?

Shared grills and fryers set the stage for gluten cross-contact. From the website:
*Taco Bell® does not claim “gluten-free” for any of its food. Some Taco Bell® items are made without gluten-containing ingredients but are prepared in common kitchen areas, including common fryer oil, risking gluten exposure. Taco Bell® does not recommend products for customers with celiac disease. Customers with gluten sensitivities should exercise judgment when ordering.

Are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Many manufacturers add wheat to corn tortillas and corn chips. It’s best to purchase a gluten-free brand. I have found many gluten-free corn tortilla brands in the freezer section of many grocers.
