Frequently Asked Questions About Pecan Maple Granola

Is Granola Gluten Free?

Granola is very popular, and there are many versions of it. The only way to know if granola is gluten-free is if all the ingredients in the granola are free of gluten, including the oats. If you buy packaged granola, always purchase a gluten-free variety like Udi’s. When making homemade granola, use certified gluten-free oatmeal such as Bob’s Red Mill GF Oats.

What is in Granola?

Granola is usually a blend of oats, seeds, nuts, dried fruit, and sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup. Oil or Nut butter binds the granola together. If you omit the oil and eat it raw, it is called Muesli. You can also use puffed rice or puffed quinoa.

Can you eat granola by itself as a snack?

Yes! This is why we love chunky granola.

What are gluten-free oats?

Gluten-free oats are manufactured in a dedicated gluten-free factory to avoid cross-contamination with gluten-containing grains such as wheat. This is especially important for patients with Celiac Disease, who must avoid gluten.
