Lemon Honey Vinaigrette in glass container

Every salad is better with a delicious salad dressing! My husband loves my salads; during the summer, we often have a salad instead of a hot meal in the evening. This dressing is an excellent accompaniment for spinach salads, arugula, and mixed greens. This would also be wonderful on a kale salad or chopped romaine. The sweetness of the honey and dijon balances the acidity of the lemon. No one flavor overpowers another.

What is the difference between a Honey Mustard Sauce and a Honey Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette?

The vinaigrette is thin enough to coat salad greens. Sauces are thicker.

Is Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard?

Grey Poupon is a brand of Dijon Mustard which originated in France. –Wikipedia

Can I use other types of mustard than Dijon?

I would recommend either a Dijon Mustard or a Honey Mustard, such as Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Honey Mustard.

Can you substitute Agave for Honey?

Yes!~ Agave works perfectly in this recipe. The recipe would then be Vegan. You could also use Maple Syrup.

Can I use vinegar if I do not have lemons?

I often replace lemon with white wine vinegar. It has that bright acidity.

Can I use this Honey Lemon Vinaigrette on Green Beans?

Steam your greens until fork tender and drain. Add a few tablespoons of this Vinaigrette. Heaven!

Can I use Oranges instead of lemons?

If you use Orange, this would be a delicious Orange Honey Vinaigrette! A little sweeter but delicious.

I always recommend storing Vinaigrettes in the refrigerator in a covered airtight container. You can give it a little whisk before serving! This is a nice vinaigrette to have on hand for vegetables or any green.
