Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 salmon filets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, basil, oregano, and brown sugar to make the blackening seasoning.
  2. Pat the salmon filets dry with a paper towel and cut them into large chunks.
  3. In a large bowl or a Ziploc bag, toss the salmon chunks with the blackening seasoning, making sure the salmon is evenly coated on all sides.
  4. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon bites to the pan. Cook the salmon for about 2 minutes on each side, until it reaches a safe internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
  5. Remove the salmon bites from the pan carefully and serve with your favorite rice and veggies!
