Units Scale
  • 2 Salmon Filets
  • 3/4 cup low-fat Sour Cream
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced shallot
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped capers
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • You can also use low-fat or full-fat Greek Yogurt in place of the sour cream.

Instructions

How To Make Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce

  1. Using a paper towel, pat the salmon dry. Season with salt and pepper
  2. Heat a skillet with olive oil over high heat until the oil is hot but not smoking.
  3. Add the salmon to the pan skin side up. Let it cook for about 4 minutes, then flip. If the salmon sticks to the pan, it may not be ready to flip. Once it’s flipped, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature of the salmon with a meat thermometer reaches 145 degrees. Once you remove the salmon from the oven, it will continue cooking.
  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately. Top the salmon with a delicious dill sauce.

Creamy Dill Sauce for Salmon

  1. Add all sour cream or yogurt, mayonnaise, finely chopped shallots, capers, lemon, dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and fresh dill to a small bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
  2. Enjoy this creamy dill sauce over salmon or your favorite seafood.

Notes

  • You can make the creamy dill sauce a few hours ahead of time and keep in the refrigerator before serving at the table.
  • I recommend doubling the creamy dill sauce recipe so guests can add extra.
  • You can also bake the salmon in the oven.
  • Garnish the finished plate with a few sprigs of dill.
